Throughout all sectors, Greater Sudbury experienced remarkable growth in 2023.
The residential sector continues to see strong investment in new and renovated multi-unit and single-family dwellings. Throughout 2023, the combined value of permits for new and renovated residential projects was $213.5 million, resulting in 675 units of new housing, the highest annual number in the last five years.

Residential tipping fees at all Greater Sudbury landfill and waste transfer sites will be waived from Monday, May 6 to Saturday, May 11, 2024. Greater Sudbury residents can deliver discarded household items to local landfill sites free of charge during this week.

City crews and contractors will begin street sweeping in the Ramsey Lake Watershed and high-risk drainage areas, as well as sidewalks in high pedestrian traffic areas the week of April 8. Street sweeping operations are expected to expand city-wide by mid-April.
